This is seriously the EASIEST craft. All it takes is an XL men's knit shirt from DI and some scissors! Just cut out the midriff of the shirt and you have an infinity scarf. If you cut out the sleeve, you have a headband too! We had a fun night looking at shirts at DI and making these cheap and easy scarves. And we got Chick-Fil-A because Hannah had never tried it, which always makes for a good time. Always.
Thanks to a little blog session with Camilia, my blog has a new look! I'm liking it so far. I'll probably continue to make changes here and there, but for now I am satisfied.
It sure has been a crazy week! Between TOPS meetings and orientations, planning the next arts event for the ARTS Partnership, and trying to keep my head above water with homework assignments, I have really been stretched. I also started back up at the testing center. This has probably been the least of my worries, however. It is so SLOW. I've already had a test in the testing center this semester though, don't you worry. Lendrum is gone all the time now, so I look forward to when he finally comes home. POSITIVE: We've been able to eat dinner together every night this week!
I am so grateful for the little things in my life that help me stay positive and get through each day. Some of these things include:

I am so grateful for the little things in my life that help me stay positive and get through each day. Some of these things include:
Phone calls with my family
Playing the guitar
Better scripture study
Gym time
Costco trips + free samples
Visiting real classrooms with real kids
Oreo milkshakes
Games with good friends
Treats from our home teacher
Being goofy with my husband
Pretending I'm a good singer
The fifth Harry Potter book (almost done!)
Rock Climbing

The Oreos and ice cream were on sale for $1 each! So...we made milkshakes |
Lendrum got some tools for Christmas, so I put him to work. I've been dying to get some more frames up in our house, but we felt bad always borrowing tools from our neighbors. Our apartment still has a long way to go, but it looks a little better than it did before Christmas break. We are afraid that the massive canvas of ourselves above the couch is a little...vain. Haha. Whatever, I like the picture and we don't really have anything else to fill the space.
My week is up and down as far as my schedule goes. The first few days of the week are jam-packed with classes and homework, but its looking like my schedule opens up toward the end of the week. Thank goodness. I got five hours of sleep last night. Today I had the wonderful opportunity to go into a kindergarten classroom again. I just can't wait to get back to another practicum! I also turned in my internship application yesterday. Interviews start in March. Fingers crossed!
Honestly, I was kind of excited to come back to BYU and start my last semester of college classes. This excitement, however, lasted until about three seconds after I stepped out of the airport in Salt Lake City. It was COLD! And I'm not talking about the "cold" in California or South Carolina, I mean it was zero degrees when I woke up the next morning. Not cool, Utah!
This semester is definitely going to be my busiest. I already started to feel overwhelmed with the first week of school. Lendrum has been busy studying for the MCAT. But I'm sure in a few years we will look back on this time period and laugh at how we thought we were so busy. One of the highlights of our week was our grand trip to Costco with our new Costco card that we got for Christmas! I felt so cool showing the lady at the entrance our card. Our favorite product: goat cheese, of course!
As of now, the New Years resolutions are happening, with one exception. I left my running shoes in South Carolina!! Although it has been nice to get an extra hour of sleep every morning, I hate not being able to work out. I guess I could run in my Vans...But not to worry, my shoes are in the mail and on their way to Utah! I guess they just wanted to stay in warm SC a bit longer. I have already seen such a big difference when I read my scriptures in the morning and start my day off right. I really want to keep this goal up because I can see the impact it can have on my life.
One more side note: I made a DELICIOUS white chili two nights ago! I was rather impressed. Hopefully this is a good sign for my cooking in 2013.

First Costco trip with our membership! |
This could be a problem |
Today I spent $30 to print out a fake teaching license. Really? |
Finally, I'm back in the blogging business! I've been meaning to make a new blog ever since we got married back in August. Time was just not my friend last semester and I never got around to it. But now, I am just relaxing in South Carolina with Lendrum's family and I found some time to accomplish my long awaited goal! I ditched the old blog and have started up a new one for the adventures of my life with my husband.
Looking back, 2012 was a busy year! It all started in April when the man of my dreams proposed at sunset on Sullivan's Island, SC. What a memorable thing that was. Being back in South Carolina reminds me so much of that time. After the engagement, it was planning, planning, and more planning! We were married August 4th in the San Diego Temple. Best day of my life. I have since enjoyed almost five months with my wonderful husband! After an amazing honeymoon in HAWAII and a beautiful open house in South Carolina, we found ourselves back at BYU for another round of school. I had the opportunity to meet President Samuelson and speak at a President's Leadership Council, which was a really unique opportunity. My best friend left on her mission and it has been so fun to hear about her life in the MTC so far. I also began my first practicum and taught kindergarten for a month. I learned so much from my darling students! This year, I have seen myself grow in ways that have surprised me. I have gained a lot of confidence in my ability as a teacher. I have learned how to manage my time between school, work, teaching, and spending time with Lendrum. I have begun to understand just a tiny bit of the sacrifice Lendrum and I will have to make with medical school. I have also grown spiritually and have further learned the importance of an eternal family. I have seen the hand of the Lord in my life so many times this year.
Although New Years is not my favorite holiday in the world, I do enjoy the chance to make my new years resolutions! Here are a few of my goals for this next year:

- Read for pleasure
- Make a greater effort to keep in touch with my friends
- Scripture study in the MORNING
- Kneel more often when I pray and make my prayers more meaningful
- Exercise every day. For reals.
- Make an effort to eat healthier. More fruits and vegetables
2013 is going to be an awesome year! Bring it on!
